Demi's brother, Jake, described the 17-year-old not only as the “best sister,” but also his “best friend.”

"Demi was the best sister I could’ve ever asked for. She was funny, kind and caring,” Jake said. “Me and her were very close. She was like a best friend to me that I could trust with anything and everything, but she’s no longer with us anymore.”

“Hopefully she’s in heaven somewhere better,” he added.
