Al Roker Comes Face-to-Face with His ‘Twin’ on the Today“ ”Show Plaza: ‘Freaky!’

The case of the dueling Rokers! 

Al Roker was confronted by his real-life doppelganger on the Today Show Plaza during the morning show’s live broadcast on Thursday, Aug. 6. 

“I feel badly for this woman over here because she’s married to Al Roker’s twin,” the show’s longtime weatherman quipped. 

Roker approached a couple who were holding up a sign that read: “I’m married to Al Roker’s twin.”

Shirley and Percy were all smiles when they met Roker, as Percy proved to be Roker’s lookalike.

“Have people told you that I look like you?” Roker asked Percy. 

“A lot of people,” Percy said, prompting Roker to joke, “Do people come up and just slap you?”

Roker complimented the couple, saying, “I hope it’s been as wonderful as it appears to be. We love that.” 

Calling the moment “freaky,” the host laughed it off. 

Earlier this year, the iconic weatherman celebrated 30 years on the Today show and opened up to PEOPLE about his thoughts on the future. 

“I love what I do,” he said at the time. “I feel good. I love this job. I love doing it. At some point I guess I won’t be, but I don’t feel like that’s anytime soon, so I’m just gonna keep going.”

As for his legacy on the NBC morning show, Roker kept it simple. 

“People, when they watch, that they didn’t feel like I wasted their time,” he shared. “And that hopefully they felt better after watching than before.”
