The Baldwins: Hilaria and Alec Baldwin Share Glimpse Into Chaotic Home Life With 8 Kids
It’s complicated between Alec Baldwin and his daughter Ireland Baldwin.
The comedian recently admitted that fatherhood didn’t come so easily with his 29-year-old daughter Ireland—whom he welcomed with ex-wife Kim Basinger during their marriage from 1993 to 2002.
“My relationship with my daughter Ireland was so negatively impacted by my divorce from her mother,” Alec, 66, explained in an interview on the second episode of his family’s new TLC show, The Baldwins, which aired March 2. “One of my most regrettable things about the whole thing was how it affected Ireland.”
Although the financial arrangements took about 18 months, according to Alec, “everything else was custody.” The divorce proceedings went on for seven years, with the It’s Complicated star noting the custody battle was “really really tough” and “just insanity.”
But Alec—who also shares kids Carmen, 11, Rafael, 9, Leonardo, 8, Romeo, 6, Eduardo, 4, Maria, 3 and Ilaria, 2, with wife Hilaria Baldwin—has taken away an important lesson from the experience and is applying it toward his relationship with his second-oldest daughter.
