Alex Newell brought the house down at the 2026 Tony Awards.
The Tony winner, 33, who most recently starred in Chicago on Broadway, performed in a tribute to the production to celebrate being the longest-running show currently playing.
Newell hit the stage in an all-black look to match the performers but stepped out onto the red carpet ahead of the show in a showstopping sequin-covered Christian Siriano gown. The actor took PEOPLE behind the scenes of their day and their getting-ready process.
And up next, catch Newell performing at the Café Carlyle from June 9-13. Tickets are available now.
