Alicia Silverstone is proving she’s still a fashion it-girl.
The actress, 49, stepped out at the Golden Globes on Sunday, Jan. 11, as part of the cast of Bugonia. Fans applauded her look for the evening, a red-hot strapless floor-length gown by Nicole + Felicia Couture.
As fans discussed the look, many pointed out how it reminded them of another red dress that Silverstone made a classic. In the 1995 classic Clueless, Silverstone stunned as Cher Horowitz in a red Alaïa mini-dress. The outfit is featured in the scene where Cher gets mugged alone in Los Angeles at night, with the character name-dropping the designer as the incident unfolds.
Silvestone’s Globes red carpet look had fans reminiscing about the moment as they praised how great the actress looked in the gown that hugged her curves, paired with Simon G. jewelry.

“Before I did Clueless, I really was a T-shirt and jeans kind of girl,” the actress recalled, adding, “I wasn’t too into fashion at all.”
So, Silverstone explained, “I ended up giving all the clothes away because I realized it was not working in my life. I gave them all away stupidly.”
“Lord only knows what Gia’s done with them,” Silverstone continued. “Gia doesn’t know where they are either, so she must have given them away, too. They all just are gone.”
Silverstone says that while she did try to incorporate Cher’s style into her own after the film wrapped, it ultimately didn’t work.
“After I did [Clueless] I thought, ‘Oh, I want to have all these clothes, I’m going to wear these clothes.’ Which was a delusional idea because I was not like that girl,” she recalled. “Who’s wearing Mary Janes and high stockings everywhere you go?”
