Chicken Shop Date is coming to an end.
On Thursday, Sept. 3, Amelia Dimoldenberg — the 32-year-old comedian who has hosted the viral web series for over a decade — announced that the show would end with a final run of episodes.
“When I was 17, I thought that I might meet the love of my life on a date in a chicken shop,” penned the creator in a letter to her fans, which she shared on Instagram. “I’ve spent my entire twenties sitting across from the most incredible people, people I’d always dreamt of meeting. All of them charmed me (some more than others) and I definitely charmed them.”
Dimoldenberg went on to describe the series as “my very own romcom,” adding, “I have loved creating so many stories for you to watch. I am so grateful to everyone who has followed me on this journey and found some joy in these episodes.”

A rep for Dimoldenberg declined to comment further. It isn’t clear when the show will officially conclude.
Since she launched the show — where she interviews a celebrity guest during a playful, occasionally awkward, and often flirtatious date-style hang at a chicken shop — in 2014, Dimoldenberg has welcomed a host of A-listers to her channel, including the likes ofJennifer Lawrence, Bella Hadid and Sabrina Carpenter.
She’s also parlayed her success online into projects across the entertainment industry: Earlier this year, it was announced that Dimoldenberg was developing a romantic comedy with Amazon MGM Studios’ Orion Pictures, which will star her as a journalist whose life is upended by a romance-fueled celebrity interview that makes her question everything.

Despite her massive success, the social media mogul acknowledged that the fame could be “a bit disorienting” in an interview with Vanity Fair published in February.
“After hustling and grinding so hard to make a name for yourself, you get to a point where you stop and you go, ‘Oh my God, I’ve actually become a product here,’ ” she said.
