Amy Schumer Found Out She Had Cushing Syndrome After ‘Moon Face’ Comments: ‘Wouldn’t Have Known’

Amy Schumer actually has online trolls to thank for leading her to Cushing Syndrome diagnosis.

Schumer, 43, opened up about “the internet coming for her” swollen face in 2024 press appearances during a “Call Her Daddy” podcast episode on Wednesday, January 22. At first, she tried to brush off the insults until “doctors [started] chiming in in the comments.”

The actress explained, “They were, like, ‘No, no … something’s really up. Your face looks so crazy that we think something’s up.’” Schumer, who was confused why doctors would be trolling her, added that the social media users thought she had Cushing syndrome. (For the uninitiated, Cushing syndrome is a disorder caused by elevated cortisol in the blood. It leads to a puffy, red, round face.)

Schumer then realized that the steroid injections she was taking to minimize scarring from her breast reduction and C-section could be to blame for her swollen facial features.
