As a mother to 5-year-old Gene, whom she shares with husband Chris Fischer, 45, Schumer says their kid is already showing signs of greatness.
“He’s really funny,” Schumer tells PEOPLE of her little one.
She adds, “I don’t know what his story is going to be, but he loves doing stunts and making people laugh.”
In the Adam Sandler-produced comedy, Schumer plays an English teacher named Lainy, who starts wearing a fake baby bump after seeing how much attention her best friend Kate (Jillian Bell) gets from her pregnancy.
During a recent appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, the comedian said although Gene has only seen Trolls 3 in its entirety, he has shown a bit of interest in some of her other films.
The 5-year-old was able to get a sneak peek of Kinda Pregnant when he saw Schumer editing it.
“He thinks that the stunts are funny,” she said during the episode.
During one scene in the upcoming film, Schumer falls face forward onto her stomach while wearing her prosthetic belly during yoga class. The accident sends the instructor and participants into a panic as they think she’s actually with child.
Schumer — who has spoken out about her “really scary” 2019 delivery in past interviews — adds that her Kinda Pregnant costar Ginny and Georgia’s Brianne Howey’s character Meg is the one she feels “closest” to.
“The character Meg, who Bri Howey plays, is sort of the closest to me and my experience where she’s going through a lot of emotions about it. Isn’t bright-eyed and bushy tailed about being pregnant like we’re all told we’re supposed to be,” Schumer tells PEOPLE.
“So to me, that was really important to show that part of some people’s pregnancy experience,” she adds.
