Andy Cohen is thrilled that fashion mogul Rachel Zoe will be joining the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for season 15.
Cohen, 57, spoke out just days after Us Weekly exclusively broke the news that Zoe, 53, was gearing up to make her long-awaited return to the world of reality TV on RHOBH.
“We are so excited about that and to have Rachel, and it’s so wild,” the TV host and producer said during the Tuesday, June 10, episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live. “She really fits. She knows Kathy [Hilton] well. She knows Kyle [Richards]. She knows [Bozoma Saint John.] She was just on Boz’s podcast. She knows Jennifer Tilly, so she really knows. I think that she must know Sutton [Stracke] from being around.”
Cohen described Zoe as the “perfect fit” for the cast because “she’s at a real transitional moment in her life.”
“I mean, I was really rocked by the news that she and [Rodger Berman] were splitting up,” he admitted.
Zoe announced that she and Berman, 56, were calling it quits after 26 years of marriage in September 2024.
“After 33 years together and 26 years married, Rodger and I have come to the mutual decision to end our marriage,” she wrote in a statement on Instagram at the time. “We are incredibly proud of the loving family we have created and our countless memories together.”
“Our No. 1 priority has been and will always be our children,” the statement continued. “We are committed to coparent our boys and to continue to work together within the many businesses we share. We ask for privacy during this time as we navigate this new chapter.”
Cohen said that he reached out to Zoe “a couple of months ago” to talk about her joining RHOBH.
“I just wanted to make sure in our conversation that she really had her head around it because, you know, it’s bananas. Whatever, and she did and she’s like, ‘I am excited. I want to be part of this ensemble, and I know them, and it seems like such a perfect, you know, moment to come in,’” he recalled on his radio show.
Cohen teased what’s to come on RHOBH and some of the exciting things going on in Zoe’s life that fans can look forward to, including witnessing her single era.
“She’s like, ‘I’m dating, my life is different,’ so I think we’re gonna see the Rachel that we love, but at a really different place in her life, and I’m really excited,” he said.
Cohen isn’t the only one excited to see Zoe make her RHOBH debut as a main cast member. Fans took to the radio show’s Instagram page to leave comments about how much they were looking forward to seeing the fashion designer on the series.
“This could make me watch housewives for the first time. I was obsessed with her show!” one person said, referring to Zoe’s former reality series, The Rachel Zoe Project, which aired on Bravo from 2007 to 2013.
“I totally LOVE Rachel Zoe! Loved her when she had her own show and can’t wait to see her on reality TV again!!!!” another fan wrote.
“Such a great choice!” a third person agreed.
