Ariana Grande surprised fans with a very special guest during her London concert on Sunday, Aug. 16.
During the second show of her Eternal Sunshine Tour in London, the Grammy-winning pop star, 33, brought her Wicked costarCynthia Erivo onstage for a surprise duet.
Erivo, 39, appeared alongside Grande onstage at the O2 Arena as they sang “For Good” from 2025’s Wicked: For Good to loud cheers from the audience. Grande and Erivo posted a video of the full-circle moment on Instagram.
The pair then sat down together and performed the medley “Get Happy/Happy Days Are Here Again,” which they originally performed on the 2025 television special Wicked: One Wonderful Night. The pair shared an emotional hug onstage after finishing the song.
Erivo reshared a video on her Instagram Stories on Sunday of herself backstage at London’s O2 Arena ahead of her performance with Grande. She also posted a photo of her watching a monitor backstage before joining the singer.

For the performance, Grande wore a custom Givenchy off-white organza dress with puff sleeves and her signature high ponytail.
Erivo, meanwhile, wore a full look from British fashion house Erdem consisting of a white shirt tucked under a light pink embellished bralet and matching hotpants, a white coat and black over-the-knee Christian Louboutin boots, per her Instagram Stories.

Grande and Erivo starred in Jon M. Chu‘s 2024 Broadway-to-film adaptation of Wicked and the 2025 sequel Wicked: For Good, in their Oscar-nominated roles as sisters Glinda and Elphaba, respectively.
The pair developed a close friendship during the making of both films and the long press tour that followed.
In a May interview with Variety, Erivo said that she and Grande “were really trying to take care of each other” during the making and promotion of the Wicked films as she discussed their friendship.

“I think that people didn’t really believe that we were actually friends,” said the Oscar nominee. “But that’s also because people don’t know me very well. If I’m a friend, then I’m a friend. If I’m not, then I’m not.”
“It’s very interesting, watching what people’s perception is versus what the reality actually is,” Erivo continued. “Lots of psychologists seated at home deciding who we were, what we were going through, what we were doing and why.”
Grande has a 10-show residency of her Eternal Sunshine Tour at London’s O2 Arena, with the final show taking place on Sept. 1.
