Trace Cyrus Says He and His Sisters Are “Genuinely Worried” About Dad Billy Ray Cyrus
Billy Ray Cyrus is leaving the old town road and has his sights set on the future.
The 63-year-old is set to release a new album—his first since 2019’s The SnakeDoctor Circus—this year, and he’s recruited a special person to do it: his son Braison Cyrus, who has happily stepped up to the plate.
“I’ve spent this past year getting to know my dad better than I ever have,” Braison said in a Jan. 24 press release. “I’ve heard stories, jokes and songs that I don’t think anyone else has. It’s an opportunity to tell my dad’s story through music and I’m fortunate to be able to take it.”
The 30-year-old continued, “Music, stories and family are the most important things to my dad so to bring the two together is a full circle endeavor.”
Billy Ray, meanwhile, also couldn’t say enough for the father-son experience.
“I’m so proud to lean into the music with Braison,” he said in the release, teasing of his album “This is art imitating life, imitating art. It starts and ends with art.”
