Eve Plumb and Christopher Knight explored the possibility of an off-screen romance when they were teenagers.
The actress, 67, revealed in a recent interview with Page Six that she and her former Brady Bunch costar, 68, had gone on a date soon after the show ended in 1974. At time time, the pair had spent five years portraying siblings Jan and Peter Brady on the classic ABC sitcom.
“It was sweet,” Plumb recalled of their outing. “It was fun, but we were really already by that time just too good of friends to make that transition into being romantic partners.”

“Any attempts at making out that evening ended with laughter and resignation that we’d always be sister and brother, even in real life,” Plumb went on to write in an excerpt from her upcoming memoir, Happiness Included: Jan Brady and Beyond, obtained by Page Six.
Plumb and Knight have maintained a strong friendship throughout the years and have monthly Zoom calls alongside their current spouses. While Plumb married business and technology consultant Ken Pace in 1995, Knight wed businesswoman Cara Kokenes in 1996.
“We’ve stayed friends to this day,” Plumb said to the outlet, noting that she and Knight are “due for” one of their calls.
In September 2022, Plumb and Knight had a public reunion at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards, during which they walked the red carpet in a black collared dress and classic black tux, respectively.

"We're very surprised and very happy," Plumb told the Associated Press of being asked to attend the ceremony at the time.
Adding that they are both “honored” to be in attendance, Knight went on to reflect on how streaming has changed the way audiences interact with television since they starred in The Brady Bunch.
"I don't think it just serves one audience, it speaks to many," he said of the sitcom. "You have that much more opportunity to catch up 10 years later on something and become a huge fan. Because of streaming, there'll be huge successes of old content."
As for Plumb’s relationship to the rest of the Brady Bunch cast? While she acknowledged in a recent interview with Woman’s World that memoirs often rehash untold tensions or long-held secrets, she was always one to “keep certain things private.”
“Part of this book was that I really didn’t want to throw anybody under the bus — not my castmates, not anyone,” she said. “I had to tell the truth about a few things, but I was cloaking it, for their sake and for mine.”
“I think most of us realize there’s no need,” she added. “It doesn’t look good on me to trash them in public, does it?”
