When Barry Williams was on set of The Brady Bunch, all he could think about was Marcia, Marcia, Marcia.
Indeed, the former child star, who played Greg Brady on the show, opened up about his offscreen relationship with Maureen McCormick, who played his onscreen stepsister, Marcia Brady.
“It was sort of like on-again, off-again with Maureen and I throughout the years,” Williams, 70, said on the April 8 episode of The Real Brody Bros podcast, which he co-hosts with Christopher Knight, who played his brother Peter. “There was always a little dance being played that was broken up by hiatus.”
And that on-off romance made it difficult for Williams to see McCormick, 68, spend time with her character’s love interests, including notable former date Charlie.
“When she was pretending to have be affectionate with other guys and going out on dates and stuff,” he continued, “I liked to just stay out of the way and let her do her job and focus on and concentrate until an episode that called for us to be sitting next to one another.”
