Brianna Chickenfry Reveals Plans to Write a Book (Sans Ghostwriter) After Zach Bryan Break Up

Six months after her headline-making split from Zach Bryan, Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia revealed that she’s in talks to write a book.

“I’m coming out with a book and I’m working with the same publishing team [as Paige DeSorbo and Hannah Berner] — hopefully,” the Barstool Sports personality, 25, said on the Sunday, April 27, episode of Gia Giudice’s “Casual Chaos” podcast. “I’ve been having meetings.”

LaPaglia added that when she had a meeting with the publishing professionals, she asked how other stars have made time to write amid their busy schedules.

“It’s so confusing how these people have time to write their own books. And I went in being, I need to write my own thing. I don’t want to have a ghostwriter. It really needs to be my voice,” she explained. “They sent me a bunch of copies from people that have actually written theirs and fun fact Paige and Hannah are one of them.”

While LaPaglia knows a lot of celebrities who write a memoir have used a ghostwriter, she doesn’t want her story to be told by another person.

“A lot of people [use ghostwriters,] but don’t claim that you wrote the whole thing and sat up for hours all night writing ago when you didn’t,” she quipped.

As for what LaPaglia plans on writing about, she wants to talk about her personal experiences but also incorporate fictionalized elements.

“My book is just going to kind of be about my life, but it’s also … it’s going to be mixed with fiction as well,” she teased. “But I’m going to use stories from my life and then kind of amp them up a little bit.”

One topic that will surely come up in LaPaglia’s story will be her tumultuous relationship with Bryan. The social media star and the country singer, 29, dated for a little over a year before Bryan announced in October 2024 that they had split. LaPaglia has candidly spoken out against her ex-boyfriend, claiming that she was emotionally abused during their relationship.

“The last year of my life has been the hardest year of my life dealing with the abuse from this dude,” she said during a November 2024 episode of her “BFFs” podcast. “I’m still scared right now because I’m scared of him still. My brain’s rewired. I’m scared to make him mad.

LaPaglia also alleged that Bryan offered her $12 million to sign an NDA, ensuring that she would never publicly speak about their past relationship.

“I’m not the people before. I was someone before you and you made the women before me believe that they had no other choice to take money from you, sign their experiences away, sign what they went through away,” LaPaglia claimed. “You get to go skip off and sing your little f***ing songs on stage like you’re a good dude. You get to treat people around you like s***. Sorry I’m not them, I don’t want your money.”
