Brittany Cartwright is setting the record straight about where she stands with estranged husband Jax Taylor.
The Valley star, 36, reacted to Jax’s claims that she has asked him to hook up with her on various occasions since their separation more than a year ago. Jax, 45, made the claims during a November 2024 interview on Bravo’s “Hot Mic” podcast and again on the season 2 premiere of The Valley, which aired Tuesday, April 15.
For her part, Brittany — who shares son Cruz, 4, with Jax — admitted on The Valley After Show she has “definitely had a couple of weak moments,” but not in recent memory.
“We did not hook up,” Brittany said during a conversation with Lala Kent. “We did hook up one time, but this was before what he was talking about on ‘Hot Mic.’”
Brittany added, “My main thing was to get to a point where we could be friends because we have a son together. I would try and try and try. I definitely had a couple of weak moments, but that has not happened in a long, long time. That was in the very beginning.”
“I would never do that now,” Brittany continued. “Are you kidding me? No. And he did it to me, many, many times. Trying to get me to hook up with him.”
Brittany claimed that following their separation, Jax tried to woo her, but she knew “that it was done” after she moved out of the couple’s marital home.
“It was really hard for me because I still loved him very much. That’s the only reason I had weak moments here and there,” she said. “And Jax is a love-bomber and he knows how to say the right things and how to manipulate situations and make me think he’s going to change. It’s hard when you love somebody to not hope that that could actually be the truth.”
“I always knew we weren’t going to be able to get back together from the moment I moved out. I’m not backtracking like that ever again,” she shared.
On Tuesday’s After Show, Jax held firm that Brittany has been trying to rekindle things with him, and not the other way around.
“Eight weeks ago, we took Cruz to the aquarium and then we went to Hooters for lunch. After a couple drinks, she’s like, ‘Hey, maybe we should hook up to see if we still have it,’” Jax alleged in a conversation with Tom Schwartz and Jesse Lally. “I was like, ‘Seriously? All the stuff you’ve been saying about me publicly.’ … I was taken [aback]. I was like, ‘No, no, no.’ I think it made her really upset.”
