Calif. Mom Welcomes 4th Baby with the Same Birthday as Her Other 3 Children: ‘Like Christmas Twice a Year’

A mother in California just welcomed her fourth baby, who happens to have the exact same birthday as her other three children.

On July 7, Nauzhae Drake gave birth to her son, Kailowa, she confirms to PEOPLE. She’s also mom to kids Kewan, whom she welcomed in 2019, Na’Zaiyla, whom she welcomed in 2021, and Khalan, whom she welcomed in 2022 — all on the same date.

The mother of four tells PEOPLE, “After welcoming baby number four, I was completely astonished by having four children born on the same day.”

“I was sad because I missed another one of my babies’ birthday parties, [and] this would be the third one I missed due to being in labor,” she adds. “But I promised them I [would] make it up to them! It’s still surreal that they all share the same exact day for a birthday, so it’s like I have Christmas twice a year.”

Drake tells PEOPLE that the kids “also all have a birthmark on their right leg in different areas.”

Drake, from Apple Valley, recently told ABC7 Los Angeles that people often assume she means she has twins. “That is always everyone’s response,” she said. “‘You have triplets?’ And I’m like, ‘No.’ ‘Twins?’ ‘No. They’re all born on different years.'”

She told the outlet, “It is just amazing having them born all on one day.”

Drake insisted none of her deliveries were induced and July 7 wasn’t the due date for any of her four kids, per the station.

She also said her doctor “didn’t believe I didn’t have an induction. So, he went into my chart and he saw that all of them were spontaneous. So, that means [labor] happened on [its] own.”

The outlet noted that the odds of having four kids with the same birthday without medical intervention are “estimated to be in the millions.”

The 26-year-old also told local outlet Victor Valley News (VVNG) that she was “truly astonished” when asked how she felt about her fourth baby being born on July 7.

“But I am blessed and know it is a sign from God,” she added.

Even Drake’s mother, LaKesha Harrison, couldn’t believe it after her daughter continued to give birth on the same day, per ABC7 Los Angeles.

“The third time she said, ‘Mom, I’m in labor,’ I told her, ‘I know that you are lying,'” Harrison said, as Drake added that after welcoming her fourth baby, “Everyone has told me to go and play the lottery,” the outlet stated.

As well as being a mother to her “angel babies,” Drake is a nursing student and is expected to graduate this December, VVNG reported.

“I decided to continue my education and go to nursing school to be able to provide the life that my babies deserve,” she told the outlet.

She previously told VVNG in 2023 that her children would celebrate their birthday together that year with “one big party with three themes.”

“All I can say is we’re so blessed. We are so lucky to have them, literally,” Drake said at the time.

Drake’s story comes after South Carolina mom Kristin Lammert spoke to PEOPLE in September about having four daughters who all share the same birthday.

Lammert, 35, became a mother again with the arrival of her latest child, Valentina, on Aug. 25, who was born one month ahead of schedule. Her other three daughters — Sophia, 9, Giuiliana, 6, and 3-year-old Mia — also have Aug. 25 birthdays like their baby sister.

“The birthday of my dog that I had growing up was Aug. 25,” Lammert told PEOPLE. “Then 10 years later, Sophia was born and we thought that was so cool. When Giuliana came, she was a little bit early. And when Mia came, she was extra early. Now Valentina’s extra, extra early. We really can’t grasp the concept ourselves.”

Lammert claimed at the time that the odds of having four girls born on the same day were 1 in 1.285 billion.
