Chelsea Houska wishes she was as cool as her daughter Aubree when she was a teenager.
“She has such a unique sense of style. She’s so into makeup, which maybe is taking after me a little bit, I like to say. It’s just really crazy,” Chelsea, 33, exclusively told Us Weekly when celebrating the growth of her Aubree Says lifestyle brand. “Everyone always says, ‘Aubree’s 15? That makes me feel so old.’ I know! Imagine how I feel. I feel so old, but she’s just so cool and confident, and I love that so much about her.”
In addition to learning how to drive, Chelsea’s eldest daughter — whom she welcomed in 2009 with ex Adam Lind — loves to switch up her hairstyle.
While this week’s hair color is dark, Chelsea said Aubree is texting her “nonstop that she wants to dye her hair red and she wants bangs.”
“I’m so proud of her,” Chelsea continued. “Just thinking back to how I was when I was her age, I just remember being like, I always wanted to follow the crowd, or I wanted to be someone I wasn’t. She’s just so sure of herself and confident in her sense of style and who she is. I think that is just so cool about her.”
Fans were first introduced to Chelsea and her daughter on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant. The reality star continued sharing her motherhood journey on Teen Mom 2 before announcing her departure from the show in 2020.
While Aubree used to like the camera, Chelsea joked that she needs to be careful about what she shares on social media.
“I try to lean my content more away from the kids in general,” Chelsea — who also shares Watson, 8, Layne, 6, and Walker 4, with husband Cole DeBoer — said to Us. “If I’m gonna post anything about Aubree, I will ask her if that’s OK with her. I’m like, ‘Do you approve of this photo, or do you approve of this video?’ And if she says no, then do not post that!”
While Chelsea joked that every day is “chaos” in her house while raising four kids, she finds joy expanding her home decor and lifestyle brand, Aubree Says.
From jewelry and trucker hats to cozy beanies and cheese boards, Aubree Says is a collection of Chelsea’s favorite things that she wants to share with old and new fans alike.
“We have things like slippers, robes and blankets,” she explained. “Those are all things that when I go home, I want to get in my robe and plop on the couch. … There’s a bunch of jewelry that we just dropped that I’m in love with. And then we’re working on some really fun stuff too.”
As she brainstorms on new products, including a possible new perfume or signature Aubree Says scent, Chelsea is excited to team up with Cole, 36, and appear on HGTV’s Rock the Block this April.

She also is looking forward to the simple things in life, like quiet Sundays with the family or quality time with Cole watching The White Lotus or Grey’s Anatomy before bed.
“We’ve been really trying to have really slow Sundays and weekends,” Chelsea explained. “For a while, it was really busy, but we were like, ‘OK, we need to find a day where we just stay home. We stay in our pajamas.’ We’ve been saying no to everything on Sundays and dedicating that to just being home.”
