On Saturday, July 12, the music icon, 79, kicked off Dolce & Gabbana’s multi-day Alta Moda event in Rome with a fashion-filled performance. Photos of the “Believe” singer onstage show her in an array of outfits — and hairstyles (because it wouldn’t be a Cher spectacle without an epic hair change).
As seen in a video shared to YouTube, the Grammy winner opened up her mini concert in what appeared to be a platinum blonde wig styled with waves, the hairstyle seemingly an ode to the look she wore in the music video for her 2001 hit, “Song for the Lonely,” which she also performed in Italy. She paired her bleached tresses with a an army green jumpsuit layered under a sparkly corset.

Midway through the show, Cher ditched her icy hair backstage and stepped back out with her famous black tresses. Her two other outfit changes consisted of flared pants and a red corset bodice attached to black lace sleeves and a ruffled train, as well as a black bedazzled catsuit that she wore to close out her performance.
On Instagram, Cher shared photos from the night, writing, “A little Rome moment.”
According to Dolce & Gabbana, the Alta Moda event is a multi-day “exclusive celebration of culture, music cinema, fashion and art” centered around their couture brands, which spans across Alta Moda, the men’s Alta Sartoria and Alta Gioielleria, the house’s collection of high jewelry.
As recapped by the luxury fashion house, Cher’s performance was filled with “one iconic track after another filled the air, bringing the venue to life and delighting guests.”
“A true icon of music, culture, and cinema, Cher took the stage with her legendary voice, adding a wave of emotion to an already unforgettable atmosphere,” the company continued.
Last summer, the label hosted its festivities to Sardinia, Italy, which brought out everyone from Naomi Campbell and Halle Bailey to Lauren Sánchez, whose son Nikko walked the runway.

Cher’s most recent red carpet appearance was at New York City’s 2025 Tribeca Film Festival to support Mariska Hargitay’s documentary, My Mom Jayne. For the event, she wore a leather jacket with sleeves covered in comic book-like art.
In February, she also stepped out with her music executive boyfriend, Alexander “AE” Edwards at the SNL50 red carpet. The couple coordinated in all-black looks, with Edwards in a suit and Cher in a fur-like coat wrapped around her embellished gown.
