Chrishell Stause Throws Shade at Selling Sunset’s Bre After Being ‘Triggered’ by MAGA Bracelet Post

Chrishell Stause threw shade at Bre Tiesi over her MAGA bracelet controversy and behind-the-scenes Selling Sunset drama.

“Some people are GREAT for TV, but when it comes to talking about our real issues (using slurs etc.) they tend to be cut,” Stause, 43, wrote via her Instagram Story on Tuesday, April 15, seemingly referring to Tiesi’s behind-the-scenes actions. “So, use this as a guideline when you watch season 9.”

Stause’s comment was accompanied by a screenshot of Tiesi’s own Instagram Story post about a jewelry delivery she recently received. Stause circled her Selling Sunset costar’s name, the company “MAGA Bracelets” and a note written by Tiesi, 33.

“Thank you @magabracelets need extra protection these days,” Tiesi captioned her initial post, which showed several diamond bracelets on her wrist.

Many fans thought Tiesi sporting jewelry by a company called MAGA Bracelets meant she supports the “Make America Great Again” campaign, made famous by current President, then presidential candidate, Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential election.

Moments later, Stause shared a second Instagram Story post claiming her beef with Tiesi was not based on her alleged political affiliations.

Instead, Stause told her followers, she had a problem with Tiesi being sued by her former employees for allegedly being “discriminated against on the basis of their sex, gender and/or sexual orientation,” per a lawsuit that was filed in April 2024. (Tiesi denied all allegations of wrongdoing in court documents filed in July 2024, according to In Touch. She also asked a judge to dismiss the lawsuit.)

“Finding out how she referred to my partner will not make the show, but no, this not just a political thing to those saying that,” Stause wrote on Tuesday, alongside an old post about the ongoing lawsuit and referring to her partner, G Flip, whom she wed in May 2023 and who is nonbinary.

Stause explained that Tiesi posting the MAGA bracelet shout-out “triggered me since we had to tip toe around the real issues while filming bc of this lawsuit.”

She quipped, “If you move like this when cameras aren’t around, move like this IN FRONT of the cameras.”

Tiesi, for her part, issued an apology for the jewelry post, claiming it was all a misunderstanding. “I do not politically speak on opinions ever and I am far from MAGA,” her Instagram Story read on Tuesday. “I cannot apologize enough for the oversight here.”

The model explained that she was “gifted’ the bracelet by Lavara Verse and “not the brand that was tagged.” Tiesi reminded her followers, “We all make mistakes and when tagging the brand this was not properly researched into making sure the correct brand was being tagged.”

Tiesi noted that “nobody should be taking my story and assuming I mean something else without context for their own benefit.”

She shared that the bracelet was rooted in her love of the eye of Horus, which is “meant to represent protection and healing,” not anything having to do with politics.

“I apologize that this story has been shared without the full story from myself, and this error will never happen again,” Tiesi added. “Hopefully this has cleared up any misunderstanding. I appreciate you all.”

Tiesi then shared a DM that her jewelry connection Jennifer Stano sent to Stause in her defense. “Hey. I normally don’t get involved in stuff like this, but I feel like I need to go to bat for Bre because this is a huge misunderstanding,” Stano wrote in the message reposted by Tiesi, explaining that in March she posted a photo wearing evil eye bracelets that sparked Tiesi’s interest.

Stano recalled, “Bre commented saying she loved them and needed 10. I told her she could use 100 and said I’d connect her with Coco, who had just launched a new collection called Lavara Verse.”

When the Lavara Verse designer Nicola “Coco” Verses sent the bracelet to Tiesi she allegedly “only had thank you cards from her older company called Maga Bracelets,” per Stano, who explained, “The bracelets were from Lavara Verse, but the packing still said Maga.”

“None of us expected Bre to post, but she did, and we were both so grateful,” Stano concluded, sharing a similar video message about the mix up on her personal account. “It was just the wrong company tagged and now she’s getting backlash for something that wasn’t her fault. Just wanted to clear that up.”

Stause, however, wasn’t buying Tiesi’s “excuse” and further slammed her costar for allegedly being tone deaf.

“I just saw her excuse. OK she ‘tagged the wrong brand’ even though it’s all the same company and MAGA was HIGHLY featured right next to her wrist,” Stause wrote via her Instagram Story.

Fans of Selling Sunset may come for the multimillion-dollar homes and over-the-top outfits, but they stay for the highs and lows of Chrishell Stause. Since 2019, the former soap star — introduced as the Oppenheim Group’s sweet, soft-spoken new agent in the premiere episode — has found herself at the center of dramas that increasingly […]

The reality star then pointed out that the phrase “transvestite” is now described as an “outdated and considered offensive term for someone who dresses in clothing traditionally associated with the opposite gender, also known as a cross-dresser.”

After sharing the definition for the harmful term, Stause pivoted back to Tiesi. “Not my job to teach her that the term is EXTREMELY outdated, but here’s a free education,” Stause quipped.

She continued, “And if my partner WAS trans, they are not, I would happily love them exactly the same. GTFOH. Someone take my phone.”
