Livia Giuggioli, Colin Firth’s ex-wife, has remarried.
The 56-year-old Italian activist revealed that she secretly wed her longtime love, Callum Grieve. She confirmed the news on Tuesday, Nov. 11, while sharing a heartfelt tribute to her husband’s beloved dog, Boo, on Instagram.
“This is my husband Callum and this was Boo, his fiercest lover and inseparable companion of 16 years,” Livia captioned the post. She shared the sad news of Boo’s death alongside multiple photos of the beloved pet with both herself and Grieve.
Reflecting on her relationship with Boo, she wrote, “Boo became Giuggioli before I became Grieve, I fell in love with both of them equally.”
She described Boo as being “part unicorn, part wolf, part bear,” adding, “on every beach she went, sea she swam, forest she walked, fields she run, bed she rested, showers she slept in (her favorite place!), train she took, ship she sailed, car she travelled in, city she visited, hotel rooms she stayed in … she showed us what trust, love, kindness — and now its highest expression, grief – is ❤️.”
“Really an honour to have crossed path with you Boo Boo Bear ❤️ thank you for 3 incredible years together,” Livia wrote.
She did not provide any specific information about her wedding to Grieve, including when they might have tied the knot. However, she did provide additional confirmation that they exchanged vows.
Her Instagram bio now reads: “Giuggioli soul 🦋, Firth mamma ❤️, Grieve wife.”
Livia was married to Colin, 65, from 1997 until 2019. They share sons Luca, 24, and Matteo, 22.
News of her nuptials comes just a few weeks after Livia explained why her last name remained “Firth” in her Instagram handle. In a video shared on the social media app, she explained that she never actually changed her last name after she and Colin got married, saying, “Italian women never change their name, anyway, on their documents and stuff.”
Regarding her multiple last names, she said, “And I’m incredibly proud of being Giuggioli and I’m incredibly proud of being Firth. I’m a Firth mama, my boys are Firth and that part will never go away.”
Despite that, Livia noted that she had reached out to Instagram and its parent company Meta about changing her handle but had so far been unsuccessful in her efforts.
“So it’s very very simple. My hashtag is still @liviafirth because Meta is not allowing me to change it,” she clarified. “Equally, I really don’t care. The people who love me really don’t care whether it’s Giuggioli or Firth or another name. So that’s it, this is why it’s @liviafirth. It’s very simple and then at some point maybe I’ll be able to change it, maybe I’ll never change it and it will always be Livia Firth, even though I’m not married to Firth anymore.”
Concluding, she asked, “So that’s it. Simple. Is that a problem, really? With everything that goes on in the world, is that a problem?”

Livia recently marked a special anniversary with Grieve on Instagram — the anniversary of their first kiss, which took place on Oct. 25.
“Three years of us,” she captioned a sweet photo of the pair embracing. The picture of the happy couple was accompanied by another snap of Boo. This time, Grieve’s pet posed for the camera alongside a red heart-shaped balloon.
