Luenell never meant to make Pete Davidson “uncomfortable” during the pair’s joint appearance on Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney.
“By no means did my client, Luenell, want to make Mr. Davidson uncomfortable during their respective appearance on Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney, Luenell explained via a rep in a statement to People shared on Friday, March 28. “She was just being playful.”
The statement added, “I admit, I was tickling Pete’s leg during a segment of Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney; however, I did not mean to make Pete uncomfortable. I sincerely apologize. It was all done in jest. I hope Pete will forgive me, and I’m still willing to go out on a date with him if he so chooses. And I promise I won’t touch him again unless he wants me to!”
Things between the two got uncomfortable during the Wednesday, March 26, live episode of Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney on Netflix. Davidson and Luenell were both blindfolded during a segment when she ran a hand up his leg.

“The whole set felt uncomfortable,” a source told People of the interaction. “It was really inappropriate, but [John] Mulaney stepped in and kept things going. Pete played along in the moment because he didn’t want to derail the live show.”
The source added, “People believe they can treat Pete differently and view him as fair game for these ‘jokes’ because of their perception of him, but it was just wrong and shows an unfortunate double standard. Fans clearly agreed and noticed it right away.”
Things between the pair began on friendly terms when Luenell asked Davidson, 31, about his personal life, which he didn’t seem to mind.
“I told Pete backstage that I had something to talk to him about,” she explained. “We’ve met now probably about four or five times and we’ve always had a great time. … You are just an average guy, average dude, but you continuously pull all these bad bitches, right?”
“I don’t know that I’ve seen you with any sisters. You’ve probably dated them. I don’t think we’ve seen that,” she quipped, referring to women of color. “Since I don’t get it, I want to know the mystique. You’ve got Kim [Kardashian] and several other people. You’ve got this little supermodel right now.”

Luenell, 66, also joked that Davidson should take her on a date, to which he replied, “If that’s what it takes to stop this, yeah.”
“People do wanna know what is the mystique. Are you super fun? Are you a really good time? … I do not want to sleep with you, I think,” she said as the audience erupted into laughter. “But I do wanna go out. Let’s go out. Ask your little model girlfriend if you can take a sister out.”
