A Florida woman was found dead last week after a friend told police they had received a concerning phone call.
Lily Z. Yard, 27,was found deceased in her Sarasota, Fla., home on Feb. 22, the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office said in a press statement last week.
Yard's partner, 40-year-old Jordan M. Rouff, was found injured from a gunshot wound that police determined was self-inflicted, per the statement.
Rouff was pronounced dead after he was taken to the hospital.
Yard was shot in the head, per police. Rouff had shot himself in the head as well.
Investigators say the couple were in an on-again, off-again relationship and had recently moved in together.
Earlier on the day of the incident, a concerned individual requested a welfare check on the couple after receiving a call from their friend who made "unusual and worrying" statements, the sheriff's department said.

It wasn't immediately clear whether the call the concerned friend received was from Yard or Rouff.
Police did not indicate a motive behind the killings. They are investigating the matter as domestic in nature, per FOX 13 and Tampa Bay 28.
