David and Victoria Beckham are celebrating 26 years of marriage!
The 50-year-old former soccer star shared a throwback photograph with his wife, 51, as they celebrate another year together. In the image, a fresh-faced David is wearing a Chicago Bulls vest and a New York Yankees baseball cap while the smiling fashion designer wraps her arms around his neck. “26 years today. I love you,” David captioned the snap alongside a love heart emoji.
The couple, who got married on July 4, 1999, are celebrating their anniversary just one week after David returned from the hospital after undergoing surgery on his wrist. Victoria gave fans an update on his recovery on her Instagram Stories, showing her husband lying in a hospital bed with his arm in a blue sling.
David’s surgery was related to issues stemming from when he broke his wrist during a match between England and South Africa in 2003.
After his surgery, Victoria shared a video of David, with his arm still in a sling, gathering cucumbers and lettuce from their backyard. “Look, he’s overperforming on the cucumber front.”

David and Victoria are celebrating their anniversary amid continued rumors of a rift between the couple and their eldest son, Brooklyn, and his wife, actress Nicola Peltz.
In May, tensions arose when Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, skipped David’s lavish 50th birthday celebrations in London. A source admitted to PEOPLE around that time that there were “tensions between Brooklyn and Nicola and the family.”
It’s been a busy year for the Beckhams, who will take on new titles after David was named for knighthood by King Charles on June 13. The honor will see David become Sir David Beckham, while Victoria will be addressed as Lady Beckham.
