Steve said the moment he watched his son hit the home run was “unbelievable”

The father of Toronto Blue Jays star Davis Schneider is going viral for his reaction to seeing his son hit a leadoff home run in Game 5 of the World Series.
As Schneider stepped to the plate on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, his father Steve Schneider was recording a wide shot of his section behind home plate from his Meta glasses.
“Oh no! No way! No way!” Steve could be heard saying, after Davis made contact with the ball.
When it became clear his son had hit a home run, Steve started yelling.
“Oh my god!” Steve screamed, as those around him celebrated. “You’ve got to be kidding me!”
Steve posted the video to X shortly after the home run with the caption, “No description required…,” and a big smile emoji.
The video quickly went viral and fans celebrated the family’s special moment that was captured on film.
“Couldn’t be happier for your family. No one can ever take that from you all. Amazing,” one fan wrote, while another user commented: “The dad cam goes incredibly hard.”
“This is one of the best videos of all time,” said another.
Steve was equally exuberant.
“This was unbelievable,” Steve said, according to MLB.com.
The father shared that his love of baseball began when his own father took him to a World Series game in 1985. “I don’t even have a program from that [game],” Steve said, according to City News. “And now his grandson is playing in the World Series.”
After the Blue Jays’ 6-1 victory, reporters asked Davis about his dad’s glasses.
“They’re kind of dumb,” the Blue Jays star said. “I don’t know why he wears them all the time.”
He added, “It’s great to have my family out here and get to experience the World Series. It’s the first time being here. We’re from a small town in New Jersey, and they deserve it just as much as me and couldn’t be more grateful for them to be here.”
In a post on X after the game, Steve revealed that his children gave him the glasses.
