Doris Day’s family has grown by one more!
On Tuesday, Feb. 4, Ryan Melcher, the sole grandson of the late actress and singer, announced that he and his wife Brittney Melcher welcomed their first baby together. Sharing photos in a joint Instagram post, the two announced they’d added a baby girl to their family on Friday, Jan. 31.
“She’s here !” the couple wrote in the caption of their post, which featured a few sweet photos of their daughter, as well as snaps of the newly minted parents.
“Madison Marie Melcher,” they continued. “1.31.25. We’re exhausted, and obsessed and still cannot believe she’s ours 🥹.”

In August, Ryan first announced that he and his wife were expecting their first baby together by sharing a joint video on their Instagram pages.
The black and white footage showed Ryan and Brittney hugging outdoors and then holding up a baby onesie as she appeared to tell her family about the baby news.
Played alongside an instrumental version of The Beatles classic “Here Comes the Sun” by Simon Martin Perkins, the video showed the reactions of other loved ones after they were told the exciting baby news.
The clip then included a photo of Brittney, an interior designer in Carmel and Pebble Beach, holding a photo of her baby scans in front of her pregnancy bump.
“Baby Melcher due February and we couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter 🤍,” the caption read.
