Dwayne Johnson is mourning the loss of his pet pooch.
On Tuesday, Feb. 25, the actor, 52, announced the death of his dog Hobbs in an Instagram carousel of photos and videos of himself spending time with his furry friend over the years.
“RIP 💔 Hobbs I’ve been numb over this loss, but we’re so grateful for every ounce of pure love he gave our entire family and we’re so grateful he didn’t suffer long as he quietly and bravely left in the night,” his caption read.
He continued, “Lately, there’s been a lot that’s too big to talk about. Lonesome, lonely, heard it’s all the same.”
“One of my favorite songs felt appropriate here, as I wonder what’s going on his new world, because I know what it’s like in mine,” Johnson added. “Not sure how spirits work but come back and visit every once in a while so we can get in trouble and laugh again. 🥃💔.”
In the first slide, Johnson smiled as rested his head on Hobbs as they both lay on the ground in an adorable clip.
The video was followed by a black-and-white photo of Hobbs licking the Moana star’s face and a clip of him playfully biting his hand.

Expressing their condolences in the comment section, one person wrote: “He lived in love, that’s what’s important. RIP ❤️.”
“Rest well and easy Hobbs 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🥺🥺🥺,” a second added.

Johnson often shared content of his furry friend on social media. In November 2024 he proudly posted photos of Hobbs joining him on his GQ cover shoot, while in 2019 he revealed that he cast Hobbs in his Fast & Furious movie Hobbs & Shaw.
Back in 2022, the dog lover also surprised a family with a rescue puppy during a screening of his animated film DC League of Super Pets.
“I LOVE surprising audiences of our @sevenbucksprod films, but this #DCSuperPets screening surprise was special,” he wrote on Instagram at the time.
“I dressed up as my character, KRYPTO, and surprised two audiences here at @cinemark in LA. Best part was finding a loving home with the Hernandez family for my lil’ guy, Quail,” he continued. “An incredible night all in the spirit of celebrating PETS.”
