Welcome to The Blueprint, where we break down the celebrity looks we want to wear right now and build them back up, piece by piece.
At this point, it’s like Eva Longoria is reading my mind.
Earlier this week, the Desperate Housewives star frolicked in a field of blooming sunflowers, which, if you know me, has been on my bucket list for at least half a decade. She somehow accomplished my lifelong dream in the exact outfit I envisioned myself wearing for said occasion: an ethereal-looking midi dress.
Turns out, she had on the Leila Dress from Guizio, which goes for a whopping $298 on its website. Her dress came in a gorgeous butter yellow, my newest color affection, and one that I’ve seen everyone from Kate Middleton to Pamela Anderson to my own mother wearing. She finished off the look with what appears to be a pair of white sneakers.

Kirundo Halter Maxi Dress
To get a dress as close as possible to Longoria’s, any good contender would first need to be a similar length, just like this Amazon option. In other words, it should not fall completely to the floor. That way, my legs could still feel a little breeze, and more importantly, not drag on the floor and pick up dirt along the way.
It also has to be bright and cheery, which this one certainly is, and finally, should have — or shouldn’t have, in this case — little to zero sleeves to keep me, a fairly sweaty person, from getting too hot.
That said, I also wonder whether I would get enough wear out of a sleeveless dress with fall just on the horizon? But then I thought of Reese Witherspoon, who has worn sweaters over dresses — and I realized I’d have no trouble transitioning this style into fall, too. (Nordstrom has some great layering options discounted during its Anniversary Sale.)
Vepose Casual Sneakers
I must admit, I always envisioned myself running around barefoot in a field of sunflowers in my dreams. But upon reflection, Longoria’s got the right idea (I do not want to get pricked by thorns or sticks!) This pair is “flexible” and “extremely comfortable,” according to shoppers, so the sneakers won’t rain on my parade, whether I’m walking around town or dancing up a storm, and they’re very classic-looking, so they should be plenty versatile.
Plus, celebrities like Selena Gomez and Gwyneth Paltrow have also given the go-ahead on the sneakers and dress combo.
