Meghan Markle is opening her arms to — and sharing her cooking and crafting secrets with — several famous faces in Netflix’s With Love, Meghan.
“I love feeding people… it’s my love language,” Meghan said in the series, which debuted on the streaming platform on Tuesday, March 4. “The only thing better than eating food is making food for someone and watching them eat it with delight.”
In the first episode, the Duchess of Sussex prepped for an overnight visit from Daniel Martin — her Suits makeup artist turned lifelong friend. (Meghan exited the series at the end of season 7 in 2018, the same year she tied the knot with husband Prince Harry. The pair share son Archie, 5, and daughter Lilibet, 3.)
While addressing the camera, Meghan gushes that she loves all things hosting — including preparing a guest room, from what’s at the side of the bed to “what’s in the bathroom for them to have a beautiful soak.”
“The joy of hosting for me is surprising people with moments that lets them know I was really thinking of their whole experience from morning to evening,” she said, before sharing the best compliment from a guest: “I had the best sleep.”

Daniel Martin
Meghan gushes that her and Harry’s kids call her pal “Uncle Daniel,” reflecting that the makeup artist was “in my life for the before, during and after, shall we say” — a reference to Meghan’s time as a working senior royal. After Martin arrived, the pair begin reminiscing on their past — before Martin cut himself with a knife while slicing a tomato. “I can beat your face but I can’t cut a tomato!” Martin quipped.
In the early days of Meghan’s stint on Suits, Martin recalled being told by his agent that she “reached out to them directly that [Markle] didn’t have representation,” and that she spent her time away from set working on The Tig.
Meghan shared that she “used to text” Martin for style advice, asking what color was “on trend” and “what is cool.” Back to the food, Martin gushed that Meghan’s skillet spaghetti is “so f—-ing good,” adding, “You’ve always shown your love through food.”
While Meghan preps a honey lemon cake, she noted that baking is not her “favorite thing,” but she “will do it for one of my favorite people.” While icing the cake, Martin reminisced on Meghan and Harry’s 2018 wedding cake — he was there for the cake testing.
“You’ve always sent me home with incredible things,” he said, while Meghan replied that it’s about “doing things with intention with someone you love, for someone you love”
Mindy Kaling
After meeting on Meghan’s podcast, Kaling and Meghan have become “email pen pals” who have bonded over their children. (Kaling is mom to daughters Katherine, 7, and Anne, 12 months, as well as son Spencer, 4.) “I love having mom friends,” Meghan said. “We need them.”
While eating a frittata and champagne featuring dollops of Meghan’s homemade preserves, Kaling gushed that receiving Meghan’s jam was “probably one of the most glamorous moments of my life” — but she was also fixated on the numbers affixed to each jar.
“As a very hierarchical person, I was like, ’Who are these people? Does having a lower number make me more special?’” Kaling said, to which Meghan replied, “It was not a ranking! … It was just ‘let me share them’ and then people started to take it very personally.”
As the pair began making tea sandwiches for their “mockup kids tea party,” Meghan called herself “a latchkey kid, so I grew up with a lot of fast food and TV tray meals” watching Jeopardy. Meghan noted that her favorite fast food included “Pollo Loco, Taco Bell’s mexican pizza, Jack in the Box tacos,” which Kaling began marveling that “Meghan Markle loves Jack-in-the-Box.”
“It’s so funny you keep saying Markle,” Meghan interjected. “You know it’s Sussex now. You have kids and you go, ‘I share my name with my children.’ I didn’t know how meaningful it would be to me, but it just means too much to go, this is our family name. Our little family now.”
The twosome bonded over working on shows for a long time — The Office for Kaling, Suits for Meghan — while they sipped white tea featuring fresh mint from the garden. “I love making friends,” Meghan said.
Roy Choi
Meghan hosted L.A. celebrity chef Choi and the pair began making Korean fried chicken and pickles, including pickled watermelon, pickled strawberries and kimchi. After Choi gushed that he’s a “huge fan” of Meghan, the twosome embraced. The pair, who had never met before, bonded over growing up in the City of Angels.
Delfina Blaquier
Blaquier, the wife of Harry’s pal Nachos Figueras, joined Meghan for a hike and a meal. Meghan gushed that Blaquier is “more beautiful on the inside than she is on the outside,” adding, “And she is a stunner — that’s just how gorgeous her spirit is.”
While eating a post-hike meal, Meghan noted, “Our husbands will be so jealous that we had this meal without them.” Blaquier, for her part, squeezed Meghan’s hand and added, “I enjoyed this morning’s hike, because I saw you being you and I love that. I love when you are doing your thing … I absolutely, I’m obsessed with that face of M. So happy.”
Abigail Spencer
Meghan hosted Spencer and Kelly Zajfen for a ladies’ lunch. Spencer, who met Meghan at an audition in 2007, said her pal was “head of morale” on Suits. Meghan agreed, noting that she “liked to plan fun for everyone,” while the group acknowledged they had “been through a lot.”

Zajfen joined the lunch with Spencer and Meghan.

Local chef Velazquez and Meghan made chicken tinga and halibut ceviche.
Tracy Robbins
Robbins, Victoria Jackson and Jennifer Rudolph joined Meghan for a game of Mahjong. Robbins and Meghan pre-assembled cocktails in mason jars, each affixed with a name tag.

In episode seven, Meghan hosted “deal friend” Tsai, who she said lives locally and is “one of the most grounded people I’ve ever met” and “the person I turn to when I have questions about most things.”
While making potstickers with Meghan, Tsai gushed, “You are always the hostess with the mostest. I love coming here to eat because you always make it feel like home and like a community.”
The pair began discussing mom guilt and imperfection, to which Tsai noted, “Perfect isn’t beautiful. Things that lived and been dropped and put back together again are more beautiful.” Meghan smiled and became visibly emotional at the remark.
Ending their day with fresh-brewed blooming tea, Tsai said that the pair’s past selves “would be proud.” Meghan, for her part, added, “The question is, 10 years from now, where on earth are we gonna be? I don’t even know but it’s gonna be fantastic!”
“I would have never made it here without you! So grateful,” Tsai said, to which Meghan replied, “Likewise, we’ve been through a lot!
Alice Waters
When the duo crossed paths, Meghan began to fangirl over the award-winning and legendary chef. “I feel like you’re watching me fall in love. It’s very, very awkward,” she said.
After preparing quiches and a salad, Meghan became emotional while thanking Waters for stopping by. “I just respect you and appreciate you so much,” she added. “This has been a complete treat.”
Doria Ragland
Meghan’s mom made an appearance at a brunch party with several of her daughter’s friends.
Prince Harry
Harry hugged the group at the brunch party, embracing Meghan with several kisses. “Well done! You did a great job,” he said. “I love it.”
