What Is the New Vision for the Show?
In February 2024, Ortega hinted that the supernatural aspect of the show would be expanded upon.
“Reading scripts has been exciting, seeing all of the new characters that are coming in. We’re definitely expanding on the supernatural world. Our show had all sorts of werewolves and vampires. And I think we expand on that a little bit,” she told Vanity Fair. “I mean, in the first season, we had episodes that really stood out visually, like, the dance episode was a really big one for people, and that setting was very particular and it felt like Prom Night, a little bit, or Carrie. Every episode [of season 2] that I’ve read so far is like that.”
She continued: “It just stands out on its own as a very memorable scene or bit or setting, which I think is what I’m most excited for, because to pull that off for eight episodes is, I think, really incredible and really lucky.”
Ortega later teased that the level of gore would be turned up for the show’s sophomore outing. “Tim [Burton] really had a ball,” she told E! News in March 2025. “Everything is very graphic, and it’s very exciting and inspiring to work with someone like that who gets you excited about the shots that you’re doing every day.”
She also told the outlet that some scenes from season 2 were “some of my favorite footage from the show.”
Myers, meanwhile, told Screen Rant in March 2025, “I like season 2 better than season 1, honestly. I think there’s a lot of cool little Easter eggs. I think everybody’s characters in this next season … I think people are gonna be happy with the development. Yeah, it’s a fun season. So I’m very excited for people to see it.”
