Caterina Murino is pregnant!
The former Bond Girl, 47, told French magazine Gala that she is expecting after a difficult journey with in-vitro fertilization (IVF).
“At my age, I had to ask medicine to help nature,” Murino, who starred in the 2006 James Bond film Casino Royale opposite Daniel Craig, said. “You don’t always decide when the right time to become a mother comes.”
The actress told the outlet that she is expecting a baby boy with her partner of eight years, French lawyer Édouard Rigaud, and is due at the end of the summer, shortly before she turns 48 in September.
Murino met Riguard in 2019, and they live together in the Montmartre district of Paris, per Gala. She told the outlet that Riguard has supported her in her difficult journey to get pregnant after suffering two miscarriages in the past and experiencing a “trying” IVF process.
IVF is a type of fertility treatment where eggs are fertilized outside of the body, forming an embryo, which is then is placed inside a uterus in an effort to implant itself in the uterine wall to begin a pregnancy, according to Cleveland Clinic.
Despite her difficult journey to motherhood, Murino said she is grateful to finally begin her new chapter as a parent, and she told Gala that she has had a fairly smooth pregnancy so far, stating, “I haven’t had any discomfort, no diabetes, no insomnia.”

Murino also spoke about her pregnancy during an interview with Italian outlet Costa Smeralda on July 2.
“I feel I am living a magical moment,” she said. “Soon I will become a mother, and I believe we all have a huge responsibility today: raise conscious human beings.”

Murino shot to fame after appearing in Casino Royale as Bond’s brief love interest Solange.
The actress has since starred in several Italian and international films, and she previously hosted the 80th Venice International Film Festival in 2023.
