Gavin Rossdale has a new furry family member!
The 59-year-old Bush frontman revealed on Instagram Tuesday, March 25, that he adopted a new dog, Kaya, from a shelter in Los Angeles County.
“Please meet KAYA – the latest addition to our family,” he wrote in the caption. “10 days ago we got this guy from an east valley shelter.”
“What a vibe getting to know each other. The boys are thrilled,” he wrote of his three sons, Kingston, 18, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 11, whom he shares with ex-wife Gwen Stefani. The former couple split in 2015, after nearly 12 years of marriage.
“We love him. He’s home.🖤,” Rossdale concluded in the caption.
Rossdale’s girlfriend, Xhoana X, commented on the post: “We love him so much! 🖤.”
He added three adorable photos of Kaya, including a pic of the black pup standing next to his new owner outside of a house.
Rossdale also posted two candid snaps of Kaya enjoying his new surroundings. One was a black-and-white image of Kaya resting on a light couch, and the other photo was of Kaya looking alert on an outdoor deck.
The addition of Kaya follows the death of Rossdale’s beloved dog, Chewy Mcgregor, in January 2024.
At the time, Rossdale posted a heartfelt tribute to his late dog. “Its been a rough few days. me and the fam are pretty heartbroken,” he wrote. “The house feels different, all his spots are vacant and the floor has no life.”
“And he was my absolute little furry bestie,” he continued. “Can’t stop thinking about him even if I look like I’m doing something else. He was the one there through all my hardest and loneliest times.”
“He was magic. Love your pets. Love your people. Love yourself better. 🖤,” he concluded.
