Former Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner is not saying no to the idea of marriage with new girlfriend Lana.
Turner, 73, told People on Wednesday, April 30, that he doesn’t know “that either of us necessarily would be looking to get married, but we’ve also said that’s not off the table.”
The pair have both been married twice, with Turner previously tying the knot with late wife Toni and saying “I do” with Theresa Nist after getting engaged on The Golden Bachelor season 1. Turner, who began dating Lana in March, shared that a “serious discussion” about exchanging vows is “down the road a bit.”
“But I do think we’ve both come to the comfortable agreement that we both want a long-term committed permanent relationship, and I think we’re both feeling like we’re there that we’re in that now,” he said. “It’s kind of two different things, but they are closely related.”
Turner shared that he introduced Lana to his two daughters, Angie and Jenny, “probably two or three weekends” into dating and gushed that she “easily related” to his family — and he “really easily related to hers.”
When meeting Lana’s parents, Turner admitted that he was “a little nervous.” He added, “But her parents were so accommodating, and I could see so much of Lana in her mom — a lot of energy, a very attentive hostess. And she was just so, so sweet. We went out and had an enjoyable dinner. It was good right off the bat.”
The pair have also gone “fantasy house shopping” and have made plans to take a trip to London and Paris this summer.
“We’ve been together every weekend,” Turner said. “She’s retired, so she’s not tied down. On a moment’s notice, she could come here or if I go there. There’s no encumbrances with work, so there’s just an awful lot of pluses that are helping us along.”

Turner, who shared in 2024 that he was diagnosed with an incurable cancer, gushed that Lana has been supportive through his health journey.
“I started to talk about it and she goes, ‘Gerry, I know what the cancer is you have. I’ve researched it and I’m fine with that, so don’t worry about that one bit,’” Turner told the outlet. “And it’s like, ‘Oh my God, this is a person that’s really, before even meeting me, is invested.’”
Before bringing his relationship into the spotlight, Turner had a conversation with Nist — who recalled their talk in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly.
“He said, ‘I just wanna let you know I met someone.’ I said, ‘That’s wonderful. I’m so happy for you.’ He goes, ‘I was afraid to tell you.’ ‘Why would you be afraid? I only want your happiness,’” Nist told Us earlier this month. “Like, if this was the way it happened for him to find his person to go on the show, get married, and then find his person this way, then it was meant to be.”
