Collin Morikawa and Katherine Zhu are going to be parents!
The golfer and his wife of three years are expecting their first baby together, Morikawa shared with CBS Sports on Sunday, Feb. 15, following his win at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
"We are actually expecting later this year, in a few months. We just started telling people this week,” Morikawa told CBS Sports. “We said what a better way, the best way, to just announce it to the world if I was able to come out and win.”
He continued, reflecting on recent major moments: "There’s so much to life. There’s so much to enjoy … I’m just so thankful for the people around me. My team, Kat, my wife, my parents, my brother. I’m speechless right now.”
Later that day, Morikawa and Zhu shared a joint Instagram post of both of them holding Morikawa's trophy from his win. In the caption, the pair alluded to the baby news, writing that the day was "Special for many reasons 🩵."
Morikawa and Zhu — also a former golfer and a marathon runner — met in 2017 while they were golfing for the University of California, Berkeley and Pepperdine University, respectively. Roughly four years later, Morikawa proposed to Zhu.
The pair wed in an intimate ceremony at Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles on Nov. 26, 2022. The black-and-white celebration saw about 100 close friends and family celebrate the happy couple.
"We found each other by chance, but we chose to share our lives and dreams together," Morikawa told PEOPLE at the time. "Marriage means to be in love with each other for the rest of our lives."

"11.26.22," Zhu wrote in the caption, "A day we will remember forever 🤍."
