Gracie Abrams Recalls Talking Through a Breakup With Taylor Swift During the ‘Eras Tour’

Gracie Abrams will never forget the support she received from Taylor Swift during a difficult time in her love life.

“Last year, when I was breaking up with my then-boyfriend, after talking to Taylor, I felt very backed by my decision,” Abrams, 25, shared in an interview with Cosmopolitan published Wednesday, February 5. “I felt deep support. Talking to her helped me maintain my stance in the breakup. And, of course, her songs help me through any breakup. They’re all one big love poem.”

Before being linked to actor Paul Mescal, Abrams reportedly dated producer Blake Slatkin.

While she didn’t name names in her latest interview, Abrams said she has introduced people she has dated to Swift, 35. The singer also shared her vision of what an ideal romance looks like to her.

Gracie Abrams was a self-proclaimed Swiftie before she actually became friends with Taylor Swift. “Every formative memory in my life is paired with a Taylor Swift song that helped me get through,” Abrams told Vanity Fair in a July 2023 profile. “My boyfriend the other day did the thing where we shuffled her discography and […]

“What I love about a healthy relationship is that your life doesn’t radically change,” she explained. “You just fit into each other in a way that feels positively challenging and deeply supportive — it’s like a place to land.”

When it comes to her friendship with Swift, Abrams admitted to being a self-proclaimed Swiftie long before she became besties with the Grammy winner.

When Swift invited her to serve as the opening act for the Eras Tour, Abrams said their friendship jumped to another level — even if they are totally “different.”

“Taylor is an athlete, a brilliant businessperson and a genius writer,” Abrams gushed. “She’s a grounded human being who makes time for everyone in her life. It’s been really cool to be in the orbit of a person like her.”

Although Swift’s final Eras Tour show was in December 2024, Abrams still can’t believe everything her close friend has and continues to accomplish.

“There’s also nothing that comes close to what she has done,” Abrams explained. “People will still gaslight her and her capabilities and all this s—. But please point me to one man who has come close to defining pop culture in this way. There is nothing! But people are not ready for that conversation.”

The love and respect appears to go both ways. In July 2023, Swift invited Abrams on stage for a special performance of “Ivy” after her set was canceled due to inclement weather.

Before the song began, the “Shake It Off” singer had one sweet message to share in front of thousands of fans.

“She’s one of my favorite friends,” Swift said, “and I love her so much.”
