Gwyneth Paltrow is playing Timothée Chalamet’s love interest in the new film Marty Supreme — but her own kids had mixed reactions to seeing their mom kiss the famous actor.
Last October, the internet was set ablaze when a picture of Paltrow, 53, kissing Chalamet, 29, on the set of their new movie went viral. In the photos — taken in Central Park, New York — the duo shared a kiss while wearing their costumes, standing in what appeared to be an alleyway.
Now, the Iron Man actress tells The Hollywood Reporter that her own kids — daughter Apple, 21, and son Moses, 19 — had two different reactions to seeing their mom lock lips with the Dune actor.
“I mean, my daughter’s so cool and so punk rock that she’s like, ‘Mom, this is awesome!’ And my son was like, ‘Oh my God, I don’t want to see this,’ ” says the actress. “He was kind of mortified.”
“But I do think they’re actually excited to see this film because now they’re grown up and they can make this separation,” continues Paltrow.
“I’m sure they’ll gag when I’m having a make-out scene, of course. But it’s funny, they haven’t really seen me in movies. Historically, they like me home, as Mom, and they don’t like to engage with the outside perspective of who I am.”
After the pictures went viral, Paltrow revealed that other people in her life — namely, her “mom group texts” — went crazy. During a Nov. 21 appearance on The Tonight Show, host Jimmy Fallon pulled out photos of the costars locking lips while they filmed Marty Supreme in New York City.

“Yeah, that was bad,” the Shakespeare in Love star said, as Fallon displayed one of the photos.
“It’s just like, you’re trying to have this scene and you know it’s a private moment, and then there are paparazzi,” Paltrow added, when asked if she received a barrage of messages when the photos went public. “All my mom group texts were like, ‘Oh my God!’ They were on fire.”

Back in November, the Goop founder shared rare snaps with her son Moses on Instagram as she recapped her night in New York. The star and her all-grown-up son were all smiles as they posed for pictures together at a restaurant.
“Wrapped up fall on the east coast with a trip to the Hudson Valley (@inness_ny), a night in NYC to remember with a perfect dinner at @the86.nyc always in @gwynofficial,” she captioned her post.
