Halle Berry is admiring Zendaya‘s work ethic and sense of style.
While attending the Create & Cultivate – On Her Own Terms: Halle Berry on Menopause, Aging, & Women’s Health event in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 20, the Monster’s Ball star, 60, spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about her connection with Zendaya.
The conversation arose after The Odyssey actress, 30, took inspiration from Berry with her look six days prior at the 78th Emmy Awards. She stepped out in a custom Prada dress covered in silver sequins, a Rolex watch and Mikimoto jewelry, while wearing her hair in a pixie cut similar to the style Berry was famed for.
“I do speak to her and I have to say she is the sweetest and my little sweetheart and I would love to find something to do with her someday,” the Crime 101 star tells PEOPLE of Zendaya. “I mean, hopefully we will, but I’m just a supporter of her.”

“I love everything she’s doing,” she continues. “I think she is changing the game in so many ways for her generation. And I couldn’t be more proud of someone or to know someone honored that she would pay homage to me that way. That was really sweet.”
It’s not the first time that Berry has showered Zendaya with love after seeing the Euphoria star’s choice of outfit at the 2026 Emmy Awards.

Berry previously shared stylist Law Roach’s Instagram Stories post — featuring side-by-side images of Zendaya at the Sept. 14 event and Berry at the 2002 premiere of Die Another Day —that was originally shared by The Zoe Report. Berry inserted an animated heart under the photos and tagged Roach and Zendaya.
The outing was one of Zendaya’s first appearances with a “reimagined” pixie cut, styled with texture and lift through a “modern, editorial lens,” hairstylist Coree Moreno said in a press release.

Berry said Zendaya “murdered the night” in a second Instagram Stories post, while sharing Refinery29’s interview with Roach, in which he confirmed the inspiration behind the Spider-Man: Brand New Day actress’ look.
Berry then posted a clip of herself revealing that she would like to play Zendaya’s mom one day during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.
“There is an actress that I love with every fiber of my being. I love her,” said the Catwoman star. “I would love to play her mother. Zendaya.”
