Lilo & Stitch is landing at home soon after making a huge splash at the global box office.
PEOPLE can exclusively reveal that Disney’s hit live-action reimagining will be available on digital Tuesday, July 22, before debuting on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on Tuesday, Aug. 26.
Bonus features include two deleted scenes, a blooper reel, behind-the-scenes featurettes, and scene commentaries from Stitch himself.
Lilo & Stitch, a retelling of the 2002 animated film, stars newcomer Maia Kealoha as Lilo, a lonely girl in Hawaii who befriends a dog-like alien who crash-landed on Earth. Stitch (voiced again by Chris Sanders) learns the meaning of family while bonding with Lilo and her older sister Nani (Sydney Agudong) as he’s pursued by two aliens sent on a mission to capture him (Zach Galifianakis and Billy Magnussen).
Agudong, 24, recently told PEOPLE that she is “all for organic authenticity” while praising the movie’s Hawaiian representation on the big screen. “You don’t get to see that often,” she said, adding, “Hawaii is extremely talented. … To finally get a platform that showcases that, it was absolutely amazing to see. I really hope that it will spark more of that in the future.
In June, Disney confirmed that a live-action Lilo & Stitch sequel is in the works.
“The love that people have for Lilo & Stitch continues to grow, and the goal with this new retelling was for audiences to be able to enjoy these characters on the big screen again and hopefully have just as much fun watching it as we had making it,” Alan Bergman, co-chairman of Disney Entertainment, said in a previous statement.
