Billionaire Alex Soros and Huma Abedin are married!
The billionaire son of George Soros and the former aide to Hilary Clinton tied the knot in the Hamptons, according to Vogue.
They had a small wedding ceremony for close family and friends to sign the Nikah in honor of Abedin’s Muslim faith and the Ketubah in honor of Alex’s Jewish heritage, per the magazine. A larger celebration followed, featuring a cocktail hour, dinner and dancing.
Abedin wore not one, but two custom wedding dresses for the occasion: an off-the-shoulder design made of ivory silk satin-backed crepe by Givenchy, and a vintage-inspired gown with lace sleeves by Erdem.
Hillary, who was spotted at the couple’s rehearsal dinner together with husband Bill Clinton, told Vogue, “I’m looking forward to being a witness to their marriage; to the celebration that we all are going to be part of; to seeing so many longtime friends gathered in one place to really enjoy being part of Huma and Alex’s start of their married life.”
She added: “And I think we all could use some fun, so I’m looking forward to all of it.”
Abedin and Alex revealed their engagement in a joint Instagram post on July 10, 2024. In the snap they shared, Alex could be seen getting down on one knee as he popped the question on a balcony of a suite overlooking the water.
“This happened…we couldn’t be happier, more grateful, or more in love ❤️ 😍 💍,” Alex captioned the photo.

Alex proposed to Abedin “at home in New York City in late May” with the couple having “a formal celebration in Italy” later, according to Vogue.
They met in 2023 at a birthday party for a mutual friend, “where they quickly discovered their mutual interests in politics and public service,” according to the outlet. Not long after, Abedin and Alex started dating and quickly fell in love.
Alex told New York Magazine that Abedin taught him what true love looked like, saying, “I hadn’t been in a relationship for a very long time — 10 years or something like that — that had lasted for more than three months. And it’s, like, the first time I realized I had been mistaking lust for love.”
Abedin shared the same sentiments, telling the magazine that she “had never imagined I would meet someone whose life so seamlessly blended with mine.”
Leading up to their engagement, the pair had been photographed together at several events, including at the 2024 Met Gala and a White House state dinner honoring Kenyan President William Ruto.
Abedin is a former aide to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and was the vice-chairperson for her 2016 presidential campaign. She was formerly married to U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner. The two share a 13-year-old son named Jordan.
Alex is the son of 93-year-old billionaire George Soros, and the chairman of Open Society Foundations (OSF), the $25 billion grant-making foundation founded by his father. He previously spent two years as president of his father’s super PAC, which works to support Democratic politicians, according to the Washington Post.
