I Swapped My $600 Dyson for This Shark Vacuum That Picks Up Clumps of Disgusting Hair, and It’s on Sale

I’ve owned a lot of vacuum cleaners in my day: cheap handhelds that have lasted a few months, pricey Dysons that magically erase dirt, and robot vacuums that zip around my apartment while I’m out. And while I certainly have plenty to say about all of the above, the one vacuum cleaner I simply can’t stop raving about is the Shark Detect Clean and Empty Cordless Vacuum Cleaner.

The vacuum, which is typically priced at $450, has been slashed to just $300 at Amazon. I’ve had this vacuum for over two years now, and I’ve been so impressed with the device that I actually rehomed my $600 Dyson vacuum cleaner — yes, you read that right.

The Shark vacuum removes far more dirt than my Dyson ever did — and that’s certainly saying something. The powerful device picks up clumps of my long hair, all the dust floating around my apartment, and any grime I’ve marched in. It boosts power when it detects extra dirty areas, and it works on hard floors and carpets. It’s also designed with a HEPA filtration and anti-allergen seal, trapping up to 99.97 percent of dust.

One of my favorite features of the Shark vacuum is that it automatically empties everything it’s sucked up once you place it back on its dock. The bagless base can hold up to 30 days’ worth of dust, and it’s super easy to empty. Plus, the vacuum can be converted into a handheld device and comes with a self-cleaning brushroll, small brush, and a crevice tool; this allows me to target hard-to-reach spaces, like underneath couch cushions and behind bulky pieces of furniture.

I’m hardly the only person who’s fallen in love with this vacuum; over 300 people have purchased the vacuum this month alone, and it’s earned nearly 500 perfect ratings. Users express that they’re “never going back to a corded vacuum again” and that it “picks up hair and dirt effortlessly.”

One five-star reviewer wrote, “With five long-haired cats, you could only imagine how much hair gets left behind after vacuuming, but this little guy got it all up.” Another user added: “After using this one for the last week, I no longer want a Dyson. This does a million times better on my rugs.”

Head to Amazon now to snag the Shark Detect Clean and Empty Cordless Vacuum Cleaner while it’s $300, then keep scrolling to check out more PEOPLE-approved picks that are on sale today.
