As a self-proclaimed athleisure expert with dozens of pieces filling my closet, I’ve become very particular about material. Once I find a fabric I love, though, I am loyal to it in any style. I’ve been a fan of Alo Yoga’s celeb-worn Accolade line for years, and this summer I’m officially swapping sweatpants for the collection’s soft and stylish tennis skirt.
I had the chance to try out the new Accolade Skirt right when it launched, and it has since taken the place of my sweatpants for a lightweight, warm-weather option. The French terry material gives it a more relaxed look compared to other athletic skirts I own, but the built-in shorts ensure it can still function for playing tennis, going on walks, and lounging.
Alo Yoga Accolade Skirt
The Accolade Skirt is so versatile that it quickly became one of my favorite pieces for looking put-together with minimal effort. It’s ideal for transitional weather since it can be paired with both a matching Accolade sweatshirt on colder days and tank tops when running errands on warmer days. It comes in the same classic light gray and black colors as other Alo pieces, so it can easily be mixed and matched with a variety of tops from the brand. Sizes are selling out, so you’ll want to snag one ASAP.
The skirt has a thick elastic waistband that makes it comfortable enough to wear for any activity. Plus, it has two pockets for added convenience, so I can keep small items like keys and headphones on me when walking my dog in the morning.
Shoppers agree that this piece is a must-have in any spring and summer wardrobe, including one person who said it has a “sporty look” that can be worn to “lounge in or go out for errands.” Another customer added that it is “so comfy” that they can “wear it all day.” I do agree with the few reviews that mention the skirt can run short, but in my experience, the attached shorts balance that out.
