Fashion influencer Marian Izaguirre has died at age 23 following her hospitalization in Morelia, Mexico. The news of her death comes shortly after she was reported missing then discovered by police five days later.
The Michoacán attorney general’s office confirmed the content creator’s death on Sept. 12, per local outlet El Financiero. The statement released by officials cited fatal health complications that led to her becoming brain-dead in the hospital.
El Financiero also reported that Izaguirre’s family gave authorization for the donation of her organs, including her skin, skeletal muscle, corneas and kidneys.
The content creator disappeared on Sept. 1; her recent post wearing brightly colored clown makeup stirred up even further concern amongst her 4.1 million TikTok followers. The video saw her lip-syncing to music in various locations, and in one scene, she appeared to have tears in her eyes.
“All the promises of my love will go with you,” she captioned the 33-second video. “Why are you leaving?”
The Michoacán Prosecutor’s Office confirmed Izaguirre was discovered on Sept. 6, just days after the initial missing person report, as reported by El Financiero at the time. Authorities found her in a hotel in Morelia, where she was said to be staying for several days. The Prosecutor’s Office released a statement specifying that her vehicle was also found at the hotel.
“She was treated by paramedics and taken to a hospital,” the agency said in an English translation of its statement.
Since authorities confirmed Izaguirre’s death this weekend, many of her fans and friends have commented on her final posts to grieve the late TikToker with heartfelt words.
“In the short time I knew you, you were a wonderful girl, with a smile that never went away,” fellow content creator Marcelo Alcázar wrote, adding, “You’re an angel, and you always were.”
