Parenting influencer Lindsay Dewey is honoring the legacy of her late son, Reed, after his death at 22 months.
“Took me a while to make this but this is what I’ve wanted all day…. To just hold Reed in my arms. Just like this. Never thought I’d have to copy and paste a picture of my baby to have him in my arms again. I miss it so much,” Dewey wrote via Instagram on Sunday, May 11. “A piece of me is missing, and always will be. But I thank God for allowing me to be a mom.”
Lindsay — who shares daughter Breegan, 6, and son Tucker, 4, with husband Eric Dewey — noted that her three babies “are/were [her] world,” adding that it’s “been a dream” of hers to be a parent since she was a young child.
“I still find myself in awe that I’m living my dream. Beautiful, happy, and healthy babies who call me mama.. What more could I ever ask for?” she wrote. “Although today is hard and definitely feels different, I’m still grateful and blessed. Never would have imagined that I’d be in this position. I have felt very strong today.. which feels odd to me…feels like I’m doing this whole grief thing wrong because how am I feeling mostly ‘OK’ today.. of all days?”
Lindsay noted that she’s “thankful for these sweet little loves of mine, even on the hard and frustrating days” and added that she tried to take a “nice picture” for Mother’s Day.
“But it’s a true gift and honor to raise these babies. It’s a duty I will never take lightly or for granted. A house full of babies and chaos is the best feeling,” she concluded. “Happy Mothers Day to all the incredible mommies. We have such an anointed and high calling..Own it and be proud of it! And to the ones who are feeling that void, missing a puzzle piece, and dealing with grief that comes with it, you’re not alone and you’re doing great. 🤍.”
In February, Lindsay and Eric’s son Reed died after an unsecured mirror fell on top of him. Lindsay later shared that Reed’s organs were donated to five recipients.

While celebrating Mother’s Day on Sunday, Lindsay shared that her cousin built their family a swing knowing that Reed was a fan.
“The most special part about it is you use a crib mattress for the cushion. We’re using Reeds,” Lindsay wrote via her Instagram Story, sharing a photo of the swing. “This will now be my new reading/journaling spot. In love. It’s beautiful. I got it cozy and now it’s ready to lounge in.”
Lindsay shared a close-up of the swing and zoomed in on a plaque that read, “Reed’s Swing.” She wrote, “He would love this.”
