Influencer Maria Rita Dies Suddenly at Age 25

The Brazilian content creator had over 77,000 followers across Instagram and TikTok, where she shared beauty and fashion posts

Maria Rita Rodrigues da Silva — a Brazilian influencer who went by Maria Rita online — died on Feb. 21. She was 25.

Rodrigues, who lived in São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil, maintained a following of over 11,000 on Instagram and 65,000 on TikTok, where she was known for sharing fashion and beauty content, including reviews and tutorials with popular makeup products. 

Fellow content creator and friend Luana Lilian wrote in a Feb. 22 tribute on Instagram that the late influencer was a “charming person” and “one of those presences that effortlessly illuminate a room.”

“To the family, I send my most sincere and heartfelt embrace,” the post continued. “May you find strength in the love she planted in every person who had the privilege of knowing her. Her light remains in every memory, in every story told, in every life she touched — including mine.”

Lívia, another friend, indicated that Rodrigues’s death was sudden, writing on Instagram that they had been in the studio together the day before she died and had made plans together. 

“Not even 24 hours later you were gone,” she wrote. “It was 10 years of a friendship that will never be the same again, you were the sister I never had.”

The content creator seemingly last updated her own social media accounts on Feb. 19 — two days before her death — showing off a new pair of sunglasses.

“We are in disbelief, go in peace 🙏🏻 our eternal partner 😢 😢 😢 😢” wrote one fan in the comments.

“So sweet and talented! ❤️ 😢 May God receive you with lots of light and love! Rest in peace Mom 🙏🏼 May God comfort the hearts of the family,” penned another.

“I'm shocked. You were my inspiration as an influencer. Every post was special and unique. Strength to all the family 😞 😞” posted a third.

According to a graphic shared to Rodrigues’s Instagram Stories, her family held a funeral on Feb. 22 and a burial the following day in São Bernardo do Campo.
