Viral content creators Chan and Jamal Morant are officially parents!

The couple welcomed their first baby together, daughter Soleil Rose Morant, on Wednesday, March 25, at 4:31 p.m. The Morants tell PEOPLE that they've long anticipated the arrival of their newborn, who entered the world weighing 6 lbs., 7 oz. and measuring 20½ inches long.

"We’ve been waiting for years to start a family and have kids of our own," the duo says. "We were once the kids having worlds of fun with mysterious parents, and now we get to be the parents!"

They add, "We feel incredibly blessed and are so excited to see what this chapter brings and to welcome even more love into our home."

The baby's name brings together both family tradition and something new. Chan tells PEOPLE that she first heard the name Soleil when she was working as a flight attendant about six years ago. She was working on a flight out of France, and she was tasked with accompanying a young girl who was flying by herself.

"She was just the sweetest little girl, and she was just so beautiful. She told me her name was Soleil," says Chan. "For whatever reason — I don't know if it's because I hadn't heard it before or whatever – it just stuck with me."

There's an extra sweet layer of kismet in the fact that Chan — whose full name is Chantelle — was named after a French girl whom her mom used to babysit. The newborn's middle name, Rose, furthers the family ties: it's her mom's maiden name, and Chan, her sisters and her cousins all have the middle name Rose as well.

Chan and Jamal got their start on social media collaborating on comedic videos and skits, but over the years, they've opened up the more personal sides of their lives to their 1.7 million TikTok followers and 714,000 YouTube subscribers. Chan says they decided to "become a lot more intimate with our audience" after she became pregnant.

"So many people want to know what it's like, what we're going through, our journey. So we've been able to share, and we get to document it for ourselves too," says the new mom. Last year, they experienced loss after an ectopic pregnancy, and Chan recalls how meaningful it was to speak about it on social media and receive such support and understanding in return.

"There were just so many people who were able to resonate with that," she recalls. "Being able to lend that voice, I guess you can say it's a much different perspective than we're used to, since we've been doing the skits. The skits are always relatable, they're funny, people enjoy them and it feels like a friendship, but when we get to share these kind of in- depth conversations, it definitely is a lot deeper."

In addition to the newer areas of content they've explored, they've also written their debut children’s book, Chan and the Hoodie Adventures, which will be available in April. The plot is based on their first viral video together, a skit about Chan stealing Jamal's sweatshirt, and the two main characters are fictional, younger versions of the content creators.

'We very much believed in sharing and having something for our audience to be able to share with their children as well as our own daughter," says Jamal. "That's kind of what we're all about, just creating good things, creating great memories. Being able to create an environment for our child that lets her know that the world is at [her] fingertips."
