Prince Harry and Brooklyn Beckham’s so-called “victim summit” was much more than a gathering of men and their spouses with known and alleged family issues.
In mid-May, a source told People the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had hosted Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz at their home in Montecito, California. The pair reportedly offered their “unwavering support” to the young couple amid reports of a falling out between Beckham’s family and the couple.
Hello! Magazine’s royals editor Emily Nash has since clarified exactly what happened at the dinner.
“I think we need to clarify as well, it wasn’t just the two couples. They were there as part of a dinner party of about 20 people,” she explained in this week’s “A Right Royal Podcast” episode. Nash also said the meeting didn’t transpire at Harry and Meghan’s home after all.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hosted Brooklyn Beckham and wife Nicola Peltz for a group dinner at their home in Montecito, California, it’s been reported. A source told People on Thursday, May 15 that the Peltz-Beckhams were invited to the “intimate gathering” before the drama blew up around their non-attendance at David Beckham’s 50th birthday […]
“It was hosted by Tracy Robbins and Brian Robbins, who is the CEO of Paramount, Nickelodeon. We know David Beckham has connections with Paramount. And so I think this was not engineered to be as you described it, a kind of ‘summit’ of these two,” Nash added.
Tracy appeared on Meghan Markle’s Netflix series Love, Meghan, several times during the show’s first season.
A source exclusively told Us Weekly on May 8 that there’s been “bad blood” amid the Beckhams since before Nicola and Brooklyn got married in April 2022.
“Things never really got smoothed over, and you can tell it still affects everyone,” the source explained. “The tension is still present and it’s hard for Brooklyn at times. Brooklyn’s having a tough time with it. He’s super stubborn and just wants space from his family right now.”
The Duke and Duchess are no strangers to family controversy as well. The pair moved to Montecito after stepping down from senior royal duties in 2020. The move reportedly created a rift between the duo and the British royal family — a rift that deepened during the publication of Harry’s bestselling memoir, Spare, in 2023 as well as the prince’s legal battle for increased security protection in the U.K. (Harry lost his latest court appeal in May.)
“I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the U.K. at this point,” he recently told the BBC. “I love my country, I always have done, despite what some people in that country have done.”
Harry added, “I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore. There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family.”
