Sydney Sweeney and her The Housemaid costar Brandon Sklenar sparked romance rumors after they were seen together at the Stagecoach Festival, but sources tell Us Weekly that they are not dating.
“They are just really good friends, and Sydney is living her best life right now,” a source exclusively tells Us, adding that the 27-year-old actress has “a flirtatious personality.”
Us confirmed in March that Sweeney and fiancé Jonathan Davino broke up and called off their engagement, in part due to issues with the Euphoria star’s busy schedule. In addition to filming season 3 of the HBO hit, Sweeney has recently been promoting her and Sklenar’s upcoming adaptation of The Housemaid.
Sweeney and Sklenar, 34, were spotted together at Stagecoach in Indio, California, last weekend in a video shared via social media.
“Brandon was acting single. He was very attentive toward Sydney. It seemed like he was just there to have fun with her,” one eyewitness tells Us. “There is flirtatious chemistry with her and Brandon. People around them noticed.”
“It seemed like they were on a date together the whole night on Saturday,” adds the eyewitness, noting the stars were together the entire night on both Saturday and Sunday.
“They obviously had become friends from working together,” continues the first eyewitness. “Sydney is having a lot of fun in her single era right now.”
Also during the festival weekend, Sweeney and Sklenar were spotted in the VIP area alongside her hairstylist, Glen “Coco” Oropeza, and his boyfriend.
“They were in the artists’ compound looking lovey-dovey. They did not look like just friends,” a second eyewitness tells Us. “They were not all over each other, but they were definitely holding hands. When they would go out in the public area, they walked separately away from each other.”
Per the second eyewitness, Sklenar tried to go incognito by wearing a hoodie and “they were trying not to be seen together.”
Neither Sweeney nor Sklenar has publicly detailed their Stagecoach outing, though they have previously been candid about forming a friendship on set.

“One of my favorite things you told me when we were working together was how confident you were when you were auditioning for Spencer Dutton, and how you knew that it was going to be you,” Sweeney told Sklenar in an Interview profile published last month, referring to his 1923 character, later noting it’s “really fun talking” to her costar.
While Sweeney has been embracing her single status this spring, Sklenar has been in a long-term relationship with personal trainer Courtney Salviolo since 2020 after meeting on a dating app. The pair last appeared on a red carpet together at the 1923 premiere in February, and Sklenar referred to Salviolo as his “partner” as recently as mid-March.
“I actually met my partner on a dating app. I didn’t have Facebook. I wasn’t a phone app guy,” he told Entertainment Tonight in March. “It was right when Covid happened. [I thought,] ‘How am I going to meet somebody?’ So I was like, ‘Oh I’ll get on this…’ I think it was Hinge.”
