Is Riley Green responding to Megan Moroney's new breakup songs?

Hours after the release of Moroney's new album Cloud 9 on Friday, Feb. 20 — which fans believe included songs about Green — the country star shared a clip of himself singing an unreleased song called "POS Like Me" on Instagram.

"You can drag every letter of my name / On a chain through the Mississippi mud / Tell all your friends, your mama that / I'm a lying, cheating sun of a gun," Green, 37, sang in the video as he strummed his guitar. "You can call me every name / You can blame it all on me / Even say I'm an SOB, hell I might be."

"Drink a little cold beer / Every hunting season I disappear / You hated my dogs / You hated my songs / Yeah you hated it way out here / One day you're gonna try / You ain't ever gonna find," he continues. "Another lowdown, no good, rusted truck-driving, waffle house-eating, overall-wearing piece of s— like me / piece of s— like me."

In the comments section, one fan wrote, "oooof this was QUICKKK ❤️"

Another fans wrote, "The clap back the same day as her release tho 👀👀👀"

In addition to the tea-drinking and popcorn-eating memes, another fan wrote, "What in the Jerry Springer country music mess is going on here!!! Lordy, I am so here for this drama and am not embarrassed to say it. 😆"

Green's post came nearly 24 hours after the release of Cloud 9, which featured a breakup anthem titled "Who Hurt You?" that fans have speculated could be about the "You Look Like You Love Me" singer.

On the track, Moroney, 28, sings, "I was blinded by the lies / And the manufactured smile / The devil went down to Georgia / Then he crossed the 'Bama line."

She also sings, "Hometown happy hours / The hand-delivered flowers / You looked me in the eyes and told me what was yours was ours."

The lyrics seem to reference Green's home state of Alabama, where they were spotted driving around last May, and speculate that he got veneers.

Back in January, Moroney had a conversation with media personality Elaina Smith about the track and said that she went "bar for bar" and "said everything" so that she no longer had to respond to questions about what she vaguely referred to as the "situation."

“Like you said, I’m pretty consistently vulnerable, but there’s one song, ‘Who Hurt You?’ that I’m really excited for. Bar for bar, didn’t lie, said everything so that I don’t have to answer interview questions about the situation," the "Girl in the Mirror" singer said at the time.

She continued, "Yeah, and here’s my piece, and there’s no reason to ask me any questions about it because I told you what I needed to say. I’m try to just be efficient here… I’m like, have you heard the song? Like, there should be no further questions.”

Smith shared the conversation on TikTok, and a fan commented, "Def about Riley !!!!!"

Moroney and Green were linked in early 2025, after TikTok fans thought they were on vacation together. By March, however, the "Worst Way" performer told the In the Blind podcast that he was “single.”
