Jack Nicholson rarely makes a public appearance these days, but he’ll set aside time for his loved ones.
The beloved, Oscar-winning actor, 88, resides in Beverly Hills and is the father of six kids. Nicholson shares daughter Jennifer, 61, with ex-wife Sandra Knight, son Caleb, 54, with Five Easy Pieces costar Susan Anspach, daughter Honey, 43, with model Winnie Hollman, daughter Lorraine, 35, and son Ray, 33, with actress Rebecca Broussard and daughter Tessa, 30, with Jennine Gourin.
Nicholson has graced the screen in a slew of iconic, classic films including One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, The Shining, The Departed, Anger Management and more. While the Oscar winner has not publicly announced that he retired from acting, his last film role was 15 years ago in the 2010 romcom How Do You Know.
Out of six kids, Nicholson is seemingly the closest to Lorraine and Ray. Both Lorraine and Ray have been spotted with their dad at multiple public outings in L.A. including basketball games and other special events.

“We’ve always gotten along,” he said in a 2010 interview with AARP The Magazine. “I want to be inspirational, or some kind of good influence on them without overburdening them. It’s their time of life to find out who they are.”
Earlier this year, Lorraine gave an inside look at her family’s holiday celebrations.
“The giving season 🎁” she wrote via Instagram in January alongside a carousel of images from the get-together.
Lorraine included a sweet snap of her and Nicholson sharing a sweet embrace.
Later that year, Lorraine joined her dad in a rare outing at the SNL 50: The Anniversary Special. Nicholson sat in the crowd next to his daughter and introduced pal Adam Sandler to the stage to perform a song. Before starting his performance, Sandler, 58, gave Nicholson a shout-out and thanked him for coming out to the event.
“Yeah, baby! Let’s hear it for Jack, baby,” the comedian quipped while on the Studio 8H stage. “Jack made it out tonight. Love you, brother.”
While Ray didn’t make it out for the family outing to SNL, he has opened up about his bond with his dad and how he has looked up to the Shining star.

“We’re very different people, I was born in 1992, he was born in 1937. The things that affect me don’t necessarily affect him. Obviously, I love him. He’s my inspiration,” Ray told Deadline in October 2024. “I ate dinner with him every night. I studied it, that’s how I learned to be a human being. So, of course we’re gonna be kind of similar.”
In addition to being there for Lorraine and Ray, Nicholson offered up his home to ex Anjelica Huston amid the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year. The pair, who had an on and off relationship from 1973 to 1990, remain friends to this day.
“I was in a car with three dogs, two cats, and the housekeeper [evacuating the wildfires], and he called and asked if I was all right and if I had someplace I was staying,” Huston, 73, told The Guardian in February. “That’s the bottom line with he and I – when the chips are down, he’s there.”
