Jaime King and Austin Sosa to Divorce After Secret Marriage, Just 7 Months After Announcing Engagement

Jaime King is getting divorced from her second husband, Austin Sosa.

The banker filed for divorce from the Hart of Dixie alum, 46, on Thursday, Jan. 22, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. TMZ was first to report the news.

PEOPLE reached out to King’s representative for comment.

It remains unclear when Sosa and King tied the knot.

PEOPLE previously reported in July 2025 that the couple were engaged. King’s rep later confirmed the news to PEOPLE, saying that the actress is “grateful” for the support from fans.

King was “especially happy to share this moment with her children, who have a loving bond with Austin and his family,” her rep said at the time. “As always, her sons remain her top priority, and she kindly asks for privacy as they move forward together with love and gratitude.”

“She is very close with his family and was staying with his parents after she moved out of her Los Angeles apartment earlier this year,” a source told PEOPLE in July 2025.

King is mom to sons Leo, 10, and James, 12, whom she shares with her ex-husband Kyle Newman.

In September, she briefly mentioned her engagement on an episode of Juicy Scoop with Heather McDonald, saying that she and Sosa “met through mutual friends.”

King and Newman, 47, tied the knot in 2007. She filed for divorce from Newman in May 2020 and their divorce was finalized in September 2023.

Newman was granted sole physical custody of their sons in March 2025. A judge ordered that while Newman and King will share legal custody of their sons, Newman was granted the tie-breaking authority over legal custody and will have sole physical custody of their kids, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.
