  • Jake Shane tells PEOPLE he would be honored to make an appearance in his bestie Alix Earle’s new reality TV show

Jake Shane would be honored to make an appearance in BFF Alix Earle’s new reality show.

“As long as Alix will have me, of course,” he tells PEOPLE in an interview. “She’s one of my dearest friends, and I love supporting everything she does.”

The series — which Earle, 25, announced on Jan. 21 — will be an unscripted look at the influencer’s “blended family,” following her sister Ashtin and other beloved members of her friend group, per a release from Netflix.

“I have been telling her to do reality forever, and she is going to be incredible,” continues Shane. And when faced with the suggestion that the Earle family could be the next Kardashians, he agrees: “In a very real way, they are.”

As for whether he’d be prepared to appear on camera for the series, Shane says that he feels “fine.”

“I watch so much reality television that I feel like I know how,” he tells PEOPLE. “My one thing is how you ignore the cameras in your face — but I ignore the cameras in my face when I do my podcast all the time.”

The pair — who have been close friends for several years — recently collaborated on the opening episode of Earle’s YouTube interview series, Get Ready With Me, where the pair took turns asking each other questions about their lives.

While he doesn’t have a reality show in the works (at least not yet!), Shane has another Netflix project of his own: the third season of his viral podcast Therapuss premieres on the streaming platform on Feb. 18. New episodes will be “more or less the same” as previous seasons, he says, but with a redesigned set and a new slate of A-list guests (Hailey Bieber was tapped for the season opener).

Shane is also gearing up to make his Broadway debut on Feb. 17, starring in All Out: Comedy About Ambition alongside Ray Romano, Nicholas Braun and Jenny Slate for a run through March 8.

Making it to Broadway fulfils a dream of Shane’s since he was acting in middle school musicals. “I think that if I was standing next to 11-year-old me, he’d s— his pants and faint at the same time,” the internet star tells PEOPLE. “That was his ultimate goal.”
